Estates Maintenance Assistant
£13.42 per hour based on 37 hours a week over 5 days
(flexible to suit role)
Do you have a practical knack for fixing things? Are you the go-to person for DIY , decorating and car trouble woes? If you\'re nodding along and thinking, "That\'s me!" then we have the perfect job for you.
We\'re on the hunt for an Estates Maintenance Assistant who can:
Spruce Up Spaces: Do you know your way around a paintbrush and can transform any room from drab to fab? Are you practically-perfect at DIY and have the necessary know-how to keep everything safely in tip-top shape?
Tame the Garden: Whether it\'s pruning bushes, planting petunias or wrestling with the hedges, your gardening skills will be put to good use.
Car Whisperer: Your car maintenance skills mean you\'ll be the hero who keeps us on the road, whether it\'s fixing a flat tyre, everyday basic checks or keeping them clean .
Do you relish the satisfaction of a job well done, with your sleeves rolled up and a can-do attitude? If you\'re the sort of person who sees a challenge and thinks, "I can fix that," then we want you on our team!

Qualifications:
If you are a cheery people-y person- that\'s right up our street , as a good communicator you can adapt to wherever you are working.
You might be in the main Hospice building one day , gardening the next , servicing the Hospice vehicles and then at one of our thriving shops mending the loo or putting up shelves.
It\'s an active role, both mentally and physically so versatility is a must - can you multi-task but still pay attention to the important details?
Being organised is key to juggling all the hats you will need to wear in order to deal with the varied tasks each day will bring, we hope you are the person who will relish those opportunities and thrive in our lovely local Hospice with a big heart.

About you
St. Marys Hospice is a charity, providing specialist palliative, supportive and care at the end of life for people living with advancing illness, and their families. We have two main bases: the hospice building in Ulverston and the St Marys Living Well Centre in Barrow in Furness. We also provide care in the home setting and provide therapy groups within the local community.
Hospice services include a 6-8 bedded In-Patient Unit, Hospice at Home Service, Family & Bereavement Support Service and Living Well Therapies.
We are also a regional educational hub for palliative and end of life care education and part of the NW Coast Learning Collaborative. We deliver a range of education to internal staff and to the wider health and social care workforce.
