We are looking for an organised, analytical, and proactive Stock Controller to join our team at our Cowdenbeath site, working Monday to Friday. This is a key role responsible for managing raw material and packaging inventories, ensuring stock accuracy, maintaining supply continuity, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the site.
The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Planning, Site Management, and Suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed while driving efficiency, cost control, and stock accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
As our Stock Controller, you will:
- Manage and control raw material and packaging stock levels, including the reconciliation of material usage and waste.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly stock and material analysis.
- Work closely with Site Management and Planning teams to ensure adequate packaging and materials are available at all times.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective stock control systems and processes.
- Place orders in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
- Raise purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
- Manage supplier relationships, coordinating orders, deliveries, shipping schedules, imports, and stock requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to expedite urgent or overdue deliveries.
- Oversee the material warehouse, ensuring stock is accurately stored and the area remains clean, organised, and safe.
- Coordinate internal transfers of materials as required.
- Support Production teams in trialling new materials to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Arrange the collection and disposal of waste materials, including bales and skips.
- Conduct monthly stock counts and investigate any variances.
- Validate supplier invoices against purchase orders and deliveries.
- Support the General Manager with additional duties as required to ensure the efficient operation of the site.
- Comply with all Company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and HR standards
Experience
- Previous experience in a stock control, materials planning, inventory management, or similar role.
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment would be advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
