About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Tail Lift Engineer to join our Service Team. Working across Manchester and surrounding and nearby areas, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair, and maintenance of commercial vehicle tail lifts and shutter doors from a variety of manufacturers.
This role involves both scheduled maintenance and responding to emergency breakdowns. You'll work independently, often on-site, ensuring timely and professional service in line with company procedures and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and report on the condition, safety, and reliability of vehicle tail lifts (LOLER).
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs or temporary fixes in emergency/breakdown situations.
- Identify tail lift defects and anticipate potential component failures.
- Carry out servicing and repairs, obtaining proper authorisations before work commences.
- Conduct tail lift weight testing.
- Respond to roadside breakdowns efficiently and safely.
- Liaise with central control or the service centre regarding job timings, authorisations, and updates.

- Physically fit, due to the physical nature of the work.
- Interested in vehicle mechanics or repair work.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a similar field (2+ years preferred).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (tail lifts experience preferred).
- Willingness to undergo training if lacking some specific experience.

Working Hours
