We are seeking a proactive, organised, and dedicated Deputy Head Housekeeper to join our hospitality team. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction are consistently achieved.
As Deputy Head Housekeeper, you will lead by example, supporting, coaching, and motivating the housekeeping team while ensuring rooms and public areas meet company standards. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Housekeeper in the daily operation of the housekeeping department.
- Supervise housekeeping staff, allocating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas, ensuring cleanliness and presentation exceed guest expectations.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of housekeeping team members.
- Coach and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service and maintain consistently high performance.
- Monitor housekeeping productivity and quality, providing constructive feedback where required.
- Liaise with Reception, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest requests and maintenance issues are resolved promptly.
- Ensure adequate stock levels of cleaning chemicals, amenities, linen, and housekeeping supplies, reporting shortages and assisting with ordering.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping records, including room status updates and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, COSHH, fire safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Assist in managing departmental budgets by minimising waste and promoting efficient use of resources.
- Act as Duty Manager for the housekeeping department in the absence of the Head Housekeeper.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience within a hotel or hospitality housekeeping environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a housekeeping team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable
- Previous experience as an Assistant or Deputy Head Housekeeper.
- Experience using hotel property management or housekeeping systems.
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.

Pay: From £14.50 per hour
