Aurora Community Care is expanding its specialist support services and is seeking a compassionate and reliable Female Mental Health Support Worker to provide person-centred support to adults living with mental health challenges, including PTSD and Bipolar Disorder, across the Brighton & Hove area.
This role involves building positive, trusting relationships and supporting people to live independently, safely, and confidently within their homes and local communities. Support may occasionally involve working alongside family members and supporting wider wellbeing needs within the home environment.

What You'll Do
- Provide practical and emotional support tailored to each individual's needs
- Support clients to access community activities, appointments, education, employment, and social opportunities
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery-focused outcomes
- Assist with medication prompts and monitoring where required
- Support individuals during periods of increased anxiety or distress
- Encourage positive routines and healthy lifestyle choices
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the wider care team
- Build professional, trusting relationships that promote stability and confidence
What You'll Need
- Female applicant - this is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
- Enhanced Adult and Children's DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- A caring, patient, and non-judgemental approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and remain calm in challenging situations
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs, including PTSD and Bipolar Disorder, is preferred
- Previous experience in care, support work, social care, community services, or mental health settings would be advantageous
