An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's leading Liver Transplant and Organ Retrieval programmes as a Locum Consultant NORS Retrieval, Machine Perfusion, ARC and Liver Transplant Surgeon.
The Royal Free Hospital is a nationally recognised centre for liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery and organ retrieval, having performed more than 2,500 adult liver transplants and currently undertaking over 120 liver transplants each year. The successful candidate will join a highly respected multidisciplinary team at the forefront of innovation in transplantation and organ preservation.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated surgeon with expertise in liver transplantation, organ retrieval and machine perfusion technologies. This post offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued expansion of the Royal Free's Liver Transplant, NORS Retrieval, Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) and Machine Perfusion programmes.
The successful candidate will:
Participate as a lead surgeon within the National Organ Retrieval Service (NORS).
Support the expansion of Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) activity.
Contribute to the development of the Liver Assessment and Recovery Centre (ARC).
Participate in liver transplantation, patient assessment, listing and peri-operative care.
Support machine perfusion technologies including Normothermic Machine Perfusion (NMP) and Hypothermic Oxygenated Perfusion (HOPE).
Contribute to education, training, clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
