Start Your Career in Recruitment
Stockford Recruitment is looking for two ambitious people at the very start of their careers to join us as Associate Recruitment Consultants.
You might be finishing college and deciding that university isn't for you.
You might already be working in retail, hospitality, customer service or another role and know you're capable of more.
Or you might simply not know exactly what you want your long-term career to look like yet.
That's absolutely fine.
We're not looking for previous recruitment experience or a degree.
We're looking for drive, confidence, resilience, curiosity and a genuine desire to build a successful career.
We'll teach you the rest.
What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is a combination of sales, relationship building, networking and problem solving.
You'll work with technology businesses that need to hire great people, while building relationships with candidates looking for their next career opportunity.
You'll learn how to understand what businesses need, find talented people, bring the two together and manage the recruitment process from initial conversation through to someone accepting a new job.
As you develop, you'll start building your own network, clients and recruitment desk.
What You'll Learn
You'll receive hands-on training in:
- Finding and approaching candidates
- Speaking confidently with candidates and business leaders
- Candidate interviewing and qualification
- Business development and sales
- Building long-term client relationships
- Negotiation and objection handling
- Managing interview processes
- Job offers and closing
- Using LinkedIn and recruitment technology
- Using AI effectively within recruitment
- Understanding software, SaaS, AI and the wider technology industry
- Building and managing your own recruitment market
Don't worry if some of that sounds completely unfamiliar today.
That's what the training is for.
Although if you're already pretty handy with AI, there's every chance you'll end up teaching us a few things too!
Earnings & Progression
You'll receive a basic salary plus uncapped commission on the revenue you generate.
You'll have clear performance targets and a structured progression route:
Associate Recruitment Consultant → Recruitment Consultant → Senior Recruitment Consultant → further opportunities as we grow
Hit your expected first-year performance level and you could earn approximately £30,000 in your first year, with £35,000+ achievable for high performers.
Your progression isn't based simply on how long you've worked here.
Perform, develop and take responsibility and you'll have the opportunity to progress.
What We're Looking For
Your CV doesn't need to be packed with experience.
We're much more interested in whether you have:
- Drive – you want to achieve something
- Hunger – you're motivated by progression and earning potential
- Resilience – hearing "no" doesn't stop you
- Confidence – you're willing to pick up the phone and speak to new people
- Curiosity – you enjoy learning and asking questions
- Personality – you can build genuine relationships with people
- Work ethic – you're prepared to put the effort in
- Coachability – you listen to feedback and want to improve
- Initiative – as you develop, we want you bringing your own ideas
You don't need to arrive as the finished article.
In fact, we don't expect you to.
Recruitment Isn't Easy
We want to be upfront about this.
Recruitment can be an incredibly rewarding career, but it isn't an easy one.
People won't always answer your calls. You'll hear "no". Candidates sometimes pull out. Clients change their minds. Deals you've worked hard on won't always happen.
You'll also work towards targets and be accountable for your own performance.
But if you're resilient, competitive and willing to learn, recruitment gives you the opportunity to develop quickly, take on responsibility and increase your earnings based on your performance.
Why Join Stockford Recruitment?
Stockford Recruitment is an award winning early stage recruitment business based in Chorley, specialising in the technology and digital markets.
You'll be joining us while we're still building.
That means we don't want you to spend your career simply following somebody else's script.
We'll teach you our way of recruiting and give you the foundations you need, but as you develop, we want you to bring ideas, take ownership and have genuine autonomy.
Eventually, we want you to build something within Stockford that feels like yours.
Who Could This Suit?
This could be a great opportunity if you're:
- Finishing college and unsure whether university is right for you
- Looking for your first professional career opportunity
- Currently working in retail, hospitality, customer service or sales and want greater progression
- Motivated by earning commission and being rewarded for performance
- Interested in business, sales, technology or working with people
- Ambitious but haven't yet found the career you want to pursue
You don't need to know what you want to do for the rest of your life.
You just need the motivation to make something of the opportunity in front of you.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply with your CV and tell us a little about yourself and why this opportunity interests you.
