We are looking for compassionate, resilient and motivated Therapeutic Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our residential care team.
You will provide safe, nurturing and trauma-informed care to children and young people, building positive relationships and supporting them to feel secure, valued and understood. You will work as part of a supportive team to promote positive outcomes, independence, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build safe, trusting and professional relationships with children and young people.
- Provide trauma-informed, therapeutic and relationship-based care.
- Support children with daily routines, education, appointments, activities and life skills.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Promote children’s rights, choices, dignity and participation.
- Respond safely and appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour using de-escalation and positive behaviour support.
- Maintain accurate daily records and incident documentation.
- Safeguard children and report any concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, education, health professionals and families.
- Participate in training, supervision and reflective practice.
- Support the smooth running of the home, including meals, household routines and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Previous experience within residential childcare, social care, youth work, education or a similar setting is desirable, although transferable experience will also be considered.
Registration and Safer Recruitment
The successful applicant will be required to meet the appropriate Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements for residential childcare workers.
This role is a regulated role with children and is subject to appropriate PVG Scheme membership and safer recruitment checks, including references, employment history and qualification checks.
All employees are expected to work in accordance with relevant Scottish legislation, the SSSC Codes of Practice, Care Inspectorate standards, GIRFEC principles and organisational safeguarding procedures.
