Job Summary
Papworth Surgery is looking to recruit a motivated and organised Pharmacy Technician to join our busy and friendly primary care team. This role will support the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective prescribing services, helping to improve patient outcomes.
Main Duties of the Job
- Undertake medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge and clinic letters
- Support and manage repeat prescription processes in line with practice policies
- Respond to patient and clinician medication queries
- Assist with medication reviews and audits
- Promote safe and cost-effective prescribing
- Maintain accurate patient medication records
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and administrative staff
- Support medicines optimisation and patient safety initiatives
About You
Essential criteria:
- Qualified Pharmacy Technician
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Good understanding of medicines management processes
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable:
- Experience in GP practice or primary care setting
- Knowledge of EMIS or other clinical systems
- Experience of medication reviews and medicines optimisation
