Domestic Abuse Specialist Outreach Worker (Minority Ethnic Communities)
Job Type: Full-time. Fixed term contract until 31st August 2027 with possibility of extension subject to available funding.
Hours: 35hrs per week
Salary: £ 25,970.83
Full UK Driving License & use of own vehicle required
Working as part of the wider Specialist Domestic Abuse team at Freeva, the service will provide specialist support for those individuals who are subject to domestic abuse and are from minoritised communities living in Leicestershire County
The aim of the service is to provide emotional and practical community-based support to victims of domestic abuse living in Leicestershire County
The service will deliver:
· Comprehensive risk assessment followed by individual support plans
· Emotional and practical support
· Support to access legal advice/protection
· Specific cultural support using appropriate cultural language
· Referrals to external agencies
Main Purpose of Role:
1. Providing enhanced support to victims, living in Leicestershire, referred to or accessing support via the Helpline & Engagement team or other Freeva services
2. Undertake risk and needs assessments and engage clients with support are undertaken, including via telephone, text, webchat, email and face to face as appropriate. This will include liaison with referring agency to assist with engagement where appropriate.
2. Provide support to clients ensuring their immediate needs are met by undertaking an initial individual safety and support plan which is reviewed and updated regularly.
3. Working directly with all key agency partners to promote the safety of victims identified as high risk of harm including prompt referrals to the daily MARAC
4. Liaising with statutory and non-statutory services to ensure that the needs of vulnerable clients are met by the most appropriate agency
