We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day running of our nursery.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager while remaining actively involved within the rooms, supporting, mentoring and developing the team to ensure children receive consistently high-quality care, learning and play experiences.
About the role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll help lead the nursery team, maintain high standards and ensure the setting remains safe, welcoming and compliant. You’ll be someone staff can turn to for guidance and support, and you’ll help create a positive environment where both children and colleagues can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the effective day-to-day running and compliance of the nursery, including rotas, signing-in procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Leading, supporting and supervising staff in their day-to-day duties, including coaching, mentoring and training team members.
- Promoting high standards across the learning environment, resources, children's experiences, planning and record keeping.
- Supporting the delivery of the EYFS.
- Helping ensure safeguarding, child protection, special educational needs, inclusion and Health & Safety requirements are consistently followed.
- Building strong, professional relationships with parents and carers and maintaining effective communication across the nursery.
- Supporting staff during regulatory inspections and helping implement any recommendations.
- Assisting with the recruitment and induction of new team members.
- Helping maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, safety and risk management throughout the setting.
What we're looking for
You must have at least 2 years' leadership experience, ideally within an Early Years or childcare environment.
You’ll also need to be confident leading and motivating a team, have a strong understanding of safeguarding and the EYFS, and be committed to delivering excellent outcomes for children.
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, organised and proactive – a Deputy Manager who is comfortable taking responsibility, supporting colleagues and stepping up to help lead the nursery when required.
Why join us?
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Early Years leader who is ready for their next step. You’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the quality of the nursery, develop your leadership skills and help build a happy, supportive environment for children, families and the team.
If you have at least 2 years' leadership experience and are passionate about providing outstanding Early Years care and education, we'd love to hear from you.
