At Elysian Field Ltd, an Ofsted-registered Supported Accommodation Provider, we deliver safe, supportive living environments for care-experienced young people, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, and young people experiencing homelessness.
We are currently seeking a reliable Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a 24/7 shared property in Coventry. Working an active 10-hour night shift on a predictable 4-on / 4-off rolling rota, you will be responsible for maintaining physical security, upholding safeguarding protocols, and offering emotional reassurance to young people aged 16–17 during overnight hours.
(Please note: This is an active overnight youth support role within a regulated setting, not a personal care or personal assistant position).
Key Responsibilities
- Overnight Safeguarding: Maintain a safe, secure, and stable residential environment throughout the night, monitoring property access and conducting regular environment checks.
- Emotional Support & Reassurance: Provide calm, de-escalation-focused support and emotional reassurance to young people experiencing anxiety, trauma, or night-time distress.
- Incident Management: Respond swiftly, calmly, and professionally to any overnight incidents in strict accordance with company safeguarding procedures and risk management plans.
- Handover & Documentation: Complete detailed, accurate night logs, incident reports, and morning handover notes for the incoming day team.
- Community Standards: Promote a respectful, quiet, and structured living environment that respects the rest and well-being of all residents.
Key Requirements
- Qualities & Aptitude: High emotional intelligence, professional boundary setting, patience, and the ability to stay alert, observant, and calm throughout night shifts.
- Shift Commitment: Full reliability and willingness to work a 4-on / 4-off rolling pattern, which naturally includes some weekends and bank holidays.
- Experience (Desirable): Previous experience in supported accommodation, youth work, residential childcare, mental health support, or similar settings is advantageous.
- Communication: Clear, confident verbal communication and accurate written English for professional report writing.
- Right to Work: Must hold the permanent, legal right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
