We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Payable Manager to lead our Payments & Ledger team within a fast-paced, high-volume finance environment. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of supplier payments, ledger integrity, financial controls, and process improvements while leading and developing a high-performing team.
Reporting to the Head of Accounts Payable, you will ensure accurate and timely supplier payments, maintain robust ledger controls across multiple entities, oversee reconciliations and compliance activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and strengthen financial governance.

Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable Payments & Ledger team.
- Oversee supplier payment runs, cash flow planning and payment scheduling.
- Maintain accurate supplier ledgers and support month-end reconciliation activities.
- Manage supplier queries and stakeholder relationships, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company controls, governance requirements and CIS regulations.
- Monitor performance metrics and deliver insights to support operational excellence.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and system enhancements.
- Support audit requirements and maintain a strong financial control environment.

Proven Accounts Payable leadership experience within a high-volume finance environment.
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, supplier payments, cash management and ledger controls.
- Experience managing payments, cash management or ledger-focused teams.
- Strong systems expertise, ideally with ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365, SAP or Oracle.
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent analytical capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A detail-oriented leader with a focus on accuracy, controls, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Experience within construction, engineering, hire or similar sectors is advantageous.
