Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Trunk Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using 18t curtain lorry, primarily focusing on deliveries within the local area. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the timely distribution of products to our clients.

Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 Curtain side lorries safely and responsibly, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in optimal condition before departure.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Deliver goods accurately and on time to designated locations, maintaining professional communication with clients and dispatch teams.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs.
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during driving and loading/unloading procedures.
Requirements
- ADR (a bonus but not essential)
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transport.
- Ability to operate flatbed trucks safely, including securing loads effectively.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks as required. This role is ideal for an experienced driver seeking a stable position within a reputable organisation dedicated to safety and service excellence.
