Groundworker (Self-Employed)
We are a growing groundworks company based in Farnham, delivering high-quality groundworks and external works for private residential clients.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Groundworker to join us on a self-employed basis. This role is suited to someone who takes real pride in their work, operates to a high standard, and is confident taking ownership of projects on site.
The Role
You will work closely with the director (Luke), as well as independently managing sites when required. This is not a basic labour role, we are looking for someone capable of leading by example, maintaining quality, and ensuring jobs are delivered professionally.
You should be comfortable:
- Working independently and making decisions on site
- Leading or supporting other groundworkers (when required)
- Communicating professionally with clients and maintaining site standards
- Delivering work to a high level of finish and accuracy
Scope of Work
Our projects are varied and require a well-rounded skillset, including:
Groundworks
- Footings and foundations
- Concrete slabs (including high-quality finishing)
- Retaining walls
- Drainage, soakaways, and utilities
- Site clearance and bulk excavation
- Sewage treatment systems
- Demolition
Hard Landscaping
- Patios and pathways
- Driveways
- Decking
Requirements
- Proven experience as a skilled groundworker
- Strong portfolio, or references, demonstrating previous work
- High level of competency across both groundworks and finishing
- Ability to read drawings and plan work effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Organised, reliable, and professional at all times
- Physically fit and capable
- CSCS card preferred (but no essential)
- Own tools and transport preferred (but not essential)
- Full UK driving license
