Job Purpose
The Social Value Officer is responsible for ensuring alignment with our ESG Plan and that our community benefit/social value commitments are met as a minimum for our clients. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and tracks the overall social value impact of our projects, while liaising, facilitating, developing and delivering community led outcomes.
- Location: Glasgow
- Salary: Competitive with attractive benefits and possible company car; depending on experience.
- Working Hours: Full-time 8.00am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm Friday (with occasional evening/weekend required)
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer community benefit outcomes across multiple contracts in line with bid commitments and agreed timescales
- Support the Bid Team in defining commitments at tender stage by conducting local community needs assessments to identify priorities
- Support the Operations Teams to ensure all contractual and voluntary commitments are successfully delivered e.g., training, employment, environmental, community engagement activities etc.
- Support apprentices throughout their apprenticeship
- Monitor project-based community benefit budgets and expenditures
- Build and maintain effective cross departmental internal working relationships
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders e.g., clients, supply chain partners, schools, colleges, community groups, clubs, education & training providers, agencies etc.
- Accurately track and record activities and outcomes on internal reporting system
- Prepare required reports e.g., client reports, annual social value impact reports
- Organise outreach events, workshops, and community engagement activities e.g. Industry events, Career events etc
- Regular liaison with Resident Liaison Team
- Serve as a point of contact for community partners and internal departments
- Any other associated duties and general administration.

Essential
- Car and clean driving licence

- Ability to prepare reports, presentations and community materials
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of community benefits/social value
Desirable
- Previous construction-based experience in community engagement/social value delivery
- Experience of social value reporting or can demonstrate effective reporting across multiple projects simultaneously
- Passion for social impact, sustainability and community engagement
- Flexibility, a willingness to work outside standard 8.00-to-17.00 hours when business needs arise
