Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations and cooking equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices throughout all stages of food preparation.
- Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Help in the training of new kitchen staff as needed, sharing knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for cooking is key.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety standards is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team dynamic.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
- A genuine passion for culinary arts and a desire to grow within the hospitality industry.
