We are looking for an experienced cloud bookkeeper willing to hit the ground running within our accountancy practice in Crosshills, near Skipton and Ilkley.
The desired candidate will have responsibility for maintaining a varied portfolio of small businesses within our growing department, along with assisting our senior team with accounts preparation.
Duties - include but not limited to:
- Managing a small portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for the inflow and processing of information through cloud accounting software
- Liaising with clients as and when necessary by phone and email
- Submission of VAT returns
- Assisting senior accountants of the practice with processing of entries up to trial balance, along with potential production of management accounts and other accounting matters as directed
We are looking for a team player with a willingness to assist and keen attention to detail.
Requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of accounts preparation for a range of businesses including sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
- Knowledge of accounting software packages, particularly Sage, Xero and Quickbooks
- Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
- Ability to work under pressure, use own initiative, prioritise own workload and keep to deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail

Cross Hills is on the border of North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire and easy to reach from various locations. Approximate driving times: Bradford 30 mins; Leeds 50 mins; Barnoldswick 25 mins; Colne 25 mins; Skipton 15 mins; Ilkley 25 mins; Otley 40 mins.
Please note: this is a full time, fully office-based role. Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm (1 hour lunch).
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
