Duties
- Keep an eye on the retail floor through CCTV systems and regular patrols, spotting anything that looks out of place before it becomes a problem
- Carry out surveillance checks to stay ahead of theft, vandalism and unauthorised access
- Support our loss prevention efforts by observing and reporting suspicious or fraudulent behaviour
- Act quickly and calmly when incidents or emergencies arise, including administering first aid where needed
- Uphold store policies so customers and colleagues alike can shop and work in a safe environment
- Keep thorough incident reports and liaise confidently with management on security matters
- Carry out bag checks and other authorised security measures as required
- Bring genuine warmth to customer interactions, assisting shoppers with queries while staying alert throughout
Requirements
- Experience in surveillance, loss prevention or security is a bonus but certainly not essential, full training will be given
- Familiarity with CCTV operations and security systems is an advantage
- A calm head and professional manner under pressure
- First aid certification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Sharp observational skills and genuine attention to detail
- Confident communication skills, equally comfortable working solo or as part of a team
- Good physical fitness for patrols, including standing and walking for extended periods
- Flexibility to cover a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
