Job Overview
CPS Scaffold is seeking a hard-working and reliable HGV driver/labourer to support our scaffold team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials/equipment and personnel across London and Greater London. This role requires a dedicated individual with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills. Experience with commercial driving and flatbed operations is highly desirable. Duties
- Operate heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries and collections
- Secure cargo safely using appropriate methods and equipment, especially when handling flatbed loads
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures during daily operations
- Communicate effectively with the team and clients regarding schedules or any unforeseen delays
Qualifications
- Valid HGV licence with relevant categories for flatbed operations
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with delivery vehicles or flatbed lorries
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in various weather conditions and terrains
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and routes efficiently
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
- Prior Construction Industry experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where applicable
