Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Petrol Station Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions efficiently, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all customers. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail setting within a petrol station, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Fluency in multiple languages such as English and Spanish is highly desirable to assist a diverse clientele.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a courteous manner
- Process cash, card, and contactless payments accurately and efficiently
- Provide information about products and services offered at the station
- Upsell additional items such as snacks, drinks, or car accessories to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain organised merchandising displays to ensure attractive presentation of products
- Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and clear communication skills
- Keep the cashier area clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Manage queues during busy periods by prioritising tasks effectively and maintaining excellent time management skills
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage courteously with customers from diverse backgrounds
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer experience and sales revenue
- Good time management skills to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Previous experience in retail or cashier roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Organised with attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Pay: £12.71 per hour
