Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar/Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant hospitality establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant staff, including servers, baristas, and kitchen personnel
- Oversee food service and ensure dishes meet quality standards, adhering to food safety regulations
- Manage the bar area, including supervising drink service and ensuring compliance with licensing laws
- Assist in food production and cooking when necessary, demonstrating culinary expertise and supporting kitchen staff
- Organise shift schedules, delegate tasks efficiently, and monitor staff performance to optimise service delivery
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the restaurant and bar areas in line with health and safety standards
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with tact and professionalism to uphold the establishment’s reputation
- Monitor stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies; place orders as needed to prevent shortages
- Lead by example in hospitality excellence, fostering a positive team environment
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Knowledge of food production processes and kitchen operations; hotel or culinary experience is advantageous
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork
- Previous experience in serving, bartending, or barista roles is desirable but not essential
- Leadership qualities with a focus on delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations relevant to food service environments
- A friendly demeanour combined with professional communication skills
