Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate childcare qualified EYFS Practitioner to join our Breakfast and After School Club team as our EYFS lead. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and learning of our young Reception children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management, leadership, and childcare skills while making a positive impact on children's early education.
Hours
We are looking for someone 3-5 days a week. After School Club hours 2.30-5.30pm/6.00pm, Breakfast club hours 7.20-8.50am, during Term Time. We also have Holiday club hours 8.00am-5.30pm (various shifts available)
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where children feel secure and valued.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, sharing insights with colleagues and parents to support individualised learning plans.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that meet the needs of all children.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
- Demonstrate strong management and leadership skills by guiding junior staff or apprentices when required.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures diligently to ensure the safety of all children.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children within an early years setting is essential.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices aligned with the EYFS framework.
- Previous management or leadership experience in childcare settings is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with children, parents, and colleagues.
Pay: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
