Job summary
To join a small team of an internationally renowned cricket brand which sells cricket bats, clothing and equipment throughout the world. This role will be responsible for picking and packing orders, processing payments and organising items for despatch. Accuracy is key; therefore, the role requires someone with attention to detail with good communication and customer service skills to support the team in dealing with any customer queries swiftly.
You will also be expected on occasions to support the team with its customers, so good customer communication/service will also be essential in the role.
Key responsibilities
- Picking clothing and equipment orders and packing them accurately & efficiently ready for despatch
- Processing payment and despatching orders using Royal Mail and Parcelforce online software
- Updating order tracking numbers on customer relationship management software
- Process goods into the warehouse, unloading deliveries checking documentation against company purchase orders/delivery notes
- Organising product into relevant categories for embroidery and repackaging for distribution as required
- Supporting apparel decoration such as heat pressing of logos on product and re-bagging
- Undertaking periodic stock counts
- Restocking shelves in warehouse, general housekeeping in warehouse and in on-site shop
- Other ad-hoc duties as required
- Some weekend working may be required on occasions
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Good attention to detail and communication skills
- Competent IT skills
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate volumes of goods
- Honesty and trustworthiness
- The ability to work effectively under limited supervision
The ideal candidate will:
- have previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- strong attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy
- be physically fit to walk up the stairs and able to manually lift
- be able to work with a team and/or by themselves
- have a ‘to do’ work attitude and want to learn
- be reliable & punctual
- have an interest in sport
- have their own transport
- have good Maths, English & IT skills
General Terms:
- Normal hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, however some weekend & evening work may be required to meet deadlines in busy periods
- Working hours will be a minimum of 35 per week
