Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. A valid driving licence and experience in commercial driving are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to transport goods to designated destinations.
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring the integrity of the cargo during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times during deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during interactions with clients.
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, ideally with experience in flatbed or commercial driving roles.
- Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with customers.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo safely.
- Prior experience in delivery driver roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
