Are you a Vehicle Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Technician or Aerospace Technician looking to move into the growing EV sector?
We're recruiting for a Motor Build Technician to join an engineering and manufacturing team working on advanced electric powertrain technology.
You don't need previous EV experience. We're looking for someone with strong mechanical assembly skills, electrical knowledge and the ability to read engineering drawings.
The Role
- Assemble and disassemble electric motors
- Build inverters and Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
- Read engineering drawings and electronic work instructions
- Record build and test data
- Change motors and components on test rigs
- Support prototype and R&D builds
- Use hand and power tools to modify components where required
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams
- Cross-train into HV batteries and power electronics
What We're Looking For
- Previous mechanical assembly or build experience
- Electrical knowledge and confidence using a multimeter and insulation tester
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and PPE
Relevant backgrounds could include: Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter, Aerospace Technician, Electromechanical Technician or Military Engineer.
Previous EV experience is desirable but not essential.
