Balfour Beatty are recruiting on behalf of the Sizewell C MEH Alliance. We are is seeking an experienced Procurement & Manufacturing Quality Delivery Lead to provide leadership and assurance across the supply chain for one of the UK's most significant clean energy projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a quality professional with experience in major project delivery to lead a team of quality specialists, drive supply chain compliance, and ensure the highest standards of quality are achieved throughout the project lifecycle
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will lead a team of Quality Management Leads and Quality Engineers, ensuring quality requirements are effectively implemented across design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning and project close-out activities.
You will act as the key quality representative for your discipline, working closely with project teams, suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure that quality assurance and quality control arrangements are applied consistently and effectively throughout the supply chain
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Quality Management Leads and Quality Engineers.
- Ensure supply chain compliance with contractual quality assurance and quality control requirements.
- Support delivery of the MEH Alliance Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Act as the primary point of contact for all supply chain quality matters within your discipline.
- Oversee manufacturing surveillance activities to ensure equipment and components meet contractual and technical specifications.
- Drive the effective review and acceptance of supplier quality documentation and deliverables.
- Ensure Inspection and Test Plans are managed effectively and applied appropriately.
- Conduct and support supplier audit programmes.
- Lead the monitoring and resolution of quality issues, non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Build strong working relationships with project teams, suppliers, EDF stakeholders, regulators and inspection bodies.
- Provide quality performance reporting and timely escalation of significant quality concerns
Who we're looking for
- HNC/HND in Quality Management, or a degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in project quality delivery, ideally within the nuclear sector or similarly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning environments.
- Experience carrying out supplier audits and managing supply chain quality activities.
- Excellent knowledge of quality management standards including:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 19443
- IAEA GSR-2
- Previous line management experience within a project environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to gain a security clearance
- Experience within nuclear new build, major infrastructure or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience working within complex, contract-led organisations.
- Knowledge of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) and manufacturing surveillance programmes.
