What You'll Be Doing
As our Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of multiple rail contracts by:
- Preparing monthly valuations, interim and final accounts, payment applications and cost assessments.
- Managing commercial performance across allocated projects.
- Producing accurate cost forecasts, budgets and cash flow reports.
- Managing contract variations and ensuring robust financial control.
- Procuring and administering subcontract packages.
- Reviewing contract documentation to identify risks and protect the company's commercial position.
- Measuring completed works on site and agreeing valuations with clients.
- Supporting tender submissions and pricing activities.
- Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams to manage change and contractual events.
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attending site meetings and providing commercial advice throughout project delivery.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
Desirable
- Previous experience within the rail industry or rail maintenance.
- Knowledge of Network Rail Standards.
- Experience compiling CDM documentation.
