Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to join our fast-paced logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, operating forklifts safely, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure smooth shipping and receiving processes. Your proactive approach and mechanical aptitude will help maintain a well-organized warehouse environment, contributing to the overall success of our supply chain. Duties
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch
- Build and wrap pallets of 25kg aggregate products safely and efficiently
- Operate forklifts safely and confidently within the warehouse and yard
- Load and unload vehicles in line with company procedures
- Carry out stock handling and stock replenishment duties
- Maintain high levels of accuracy when picking and packing orders
- Ensure all goods are prepared to a high standard before dispatch
- Keep warehouse and work areas clean, organised, and safe
- Work closely with the warehouse team to meet daily dispatch targets
- Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is highly preferred
- Proven ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently; forklift certification is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle materials handling tasks confidently
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation and quality checks
