NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our General Surgery team within the South Sector. This role provides the chance to work in a fastpaced acute surgical environment, delivering highquality, compassionate care to patients with a wide range of surgical needs. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team focused on safe, effective and personcentred care. Shift Pattern is Monday to Sunday and includes days, nights and 12-hour shifts
Key responsibilities:
- Assess plan, implement, and evaluate individual programmes of care to deliver high standards of nursing care

Provide safe, effective postoperative and acute surgical care to patients and support their recovery
-
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
-
Maintain accurate, timely patient records in line with professional and organisational standards
-
Supervise, support, and mentor students and less experienced staff within the clinical area
-
Contribute to the day-to-day organisation of the ward, ensuring effective use of resources
-
Promote a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection prevention, health, and safety policies
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration

Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification

Knowledge of acute surgical nursing care and common general surgical conditions

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment

Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills

Commitment to continuing professional development and revalidation requirements

Ability to deliver compassionate patient-centred care in line with NHSGGC values
