Royal Collection Trust is a charity which cares for one of the world’s great art collections and manages the public openings of the royal residences including Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle and exhibitions at The King’s Galleries in London and Edinburgh. Our digital presence plays a vital role in sharing the collection with everyone, wherever they are. By supporting our social media activity, you’ll be building engagement with our audiences promoting visits and supporting our charitable aims
As a Social Media Officer, you’ll join a small, creative team responsible for delivering engaging content across our social media platforms with the aim of acquiring, engaging, and retaining audiences around the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
To lead on the planning, creation, and scheduling of content across Royal Collection Trust’s social media platforms, including collating and editing content from contributors.
Generate engaging and creative multimedia content, including writing posts and creating short-form videos.
Together with the Digital Marketing Manager (content & campaigns), input into and implement the strategic direction of our social media, focusing on aims of audience development and engagement targets, as well as commercial opportunities.
Monitor and respond to social media interactions, supporting customer service and audience engagement, and oversee the analysis and reporting of response rates and measures of success.
To work with external and internal partners including content creators, the Royal Communications digital team and wider Royal Collection Trust team to build relationships and identify collaboration opportunities.

About you
Essential Criteria:
You have experience managing social media channels and building online communities, with a strong understanding of what drives engagement across different social media platforms.
With excellent written communication skills, you can create engaging social content and adapt your writing to suit different audiences and brand voices.
Confident creating visual-first content, you're experienced in filming and editing short-form video using a mobile phone and editing tools such as CapCut, Canva or Premiere Pro.
You have a creative eye for design and content presentation, with experience using tools such as Canva or Photoshop to produce high-quality digital assets.
You're comfortable using social media management and analytics tools to schedule content, monitor performance and make informed, data-led decisions.
Highly organised and proactive, you can manage competing priorities, work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and use your initiative to meet deadlines.
An interest in the arts, heritage or cultural sector is desirable, alongside experience working with creators, influencers or within a relevant organisation.
