Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant Transport Manager to join our busy team in an exciting new position. The ideal candidate will have a background in Transport however training can be provided. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting duties, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining operational excellence. A Class 2 licence is also beneficial at the same time you must have a hands on roll to jump in and work where required.
Duties:
The role is hands on so not just sat at a desk. You will be required to also participate in the hands on manual roles of the business as well as the computer work required.
Assist with Fleet management in booking and controlling vehicle PMI's and services.
Help run a team of Night and Day drivers (15 staff)
Assist with Transport planning and staff management.
General day to day operational challenges.
Driving if required when staff shortages to ensure work is covered.
The ability to have a hands on approach and work where ever necessary for the business needs.
Rota Share unsocialble on call hours. (nights)

Strong Mathematical skills.
A Class 2 licence would be of benefit to this position.
A current CPC Card.
A current Transport Managers licence.
Hands on approach to work.
Flexible to work as required.
Approx Hours:
Monday-Friday and occasional weekend working as required.
Hours 8am - 6.00pm
Additional hours and days are required and expected at certain busy times of the year.
Experience:
- Previous experience is preferred for this position although training would be provided to the ideal candidate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and problem-solve efficiently
