Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home

We are recruiting an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a specialist children's residential home in Wokingham, supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), including those with Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) backgrounds.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced Registered Manager who can provide strong leadership, maintain high standards of care and safeguarding, and create a stable, positive environment where young people can thrive.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the service consistently meets Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and the Children's Homes Regulations.
You will:
- Lead, manage and develop the staff team.
- Ensure the home provides high-quality care and strong safeguarding practice.
- Maintain positive relationships with young people, families, professionals and placing authorities.
- Manage staffing, rotas, performance and recruitment.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and records are accurate and up to date.
- Drive positive outcomes for young people.
- Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Manage incidents, safeguarding concerns and allegations appropriately.
- Monitor and improve the quality of care delivered.
- Develop a strong, positive culture across the home.
- Work closely with senior management to support the continued development of the service.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step up, with a strong background in children's residential care.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing or deputy managing a children's residential home.
- Experience working with EBD, challenging behaviour and complex young people.
- Experience supporting young people affected by CSE and/or CCE.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
- A relevant Level 4/5 qualification in Children's Residential Care, or willingness to work towards the required qualification.
