Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in residential care. This position involves working closely with young people to promote their wellbeing, development, and independence, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support. The role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s lives through personalised care and guidance.
Duties
- Provide day-to-day support to children in residential settings, ensuring their safety and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist children with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs, working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
- Support children's educational activities and encourage participation in recreational pursuits to promote social skills and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care activities in accordance with organisational policies.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication, offering emotional support and guidance as needed.
- Assist with transportation duties by driving children to appointments, school, or leisure activities while adhering to safety protocols.
- Promote a nurturing environment that encourages children’s independence whilst maintaining clear boundaries and structure.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to ensure continuous professional development.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive organisational vehicles safely.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience developing or following care plans.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and completing administrative tasks electronically.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting young people's growth and wellbeing.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the organisation’s rota system.

Pay: £30,420.00-£45,112.80 per year
