Pharmacy Counter Assistant - School Leavers and Students Welcome
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our team. In this role you'll help customers with their healthcare needs, provide advice on over-the-counter medicines, and support our dispensary team.
Full training provided - you'll be enrolled on a recognised pharmacy qualification for counter staff, taking around one year to complete this will commence after a 3 month probationary period. This is a great opportunity to start your career in healthcare.
This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring patients receive their medications safely, efficiently, and with excellent service.
What we're looking for / Key responsibilities
- Must arrive on time, be hardworking, we are a very busy store
- We serve customers who are often unwell, requiring our help so you need to be proactive and willing to work long hours.
- Help customers in the front shop and assist with over-the-counter queries
- Maintain the presentation, cleanliness, and organisation of the front shop
- Action pharmacist requests efficiently and accurately
- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions under supervision
- Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and checking deliveries
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient queries professionally
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and confidentiality standards
- Support the pharmacy team with general operational duties
- Manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Requirements
- Previous pharmacy experience beneficial (Full training will be given and enrolment on NPA course after 3 months)
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good understanding of patient care and customer service
- Excellent communication skills and fluent English
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
