Full Time Boat Movement Team Member
Suffolk Yacht Harbour is the East Coast’s largest privately owned marina, with 550 berths. Working as part of the Suffolk Yacht Harbour Boat Movement Team you will help the smooth-running of our marina and yard. This will be a physical outdoor job for an enthusiastic team member involving boat handling both on and off the water. Assisting with lifting, launching and moving vessels around the marina and hard standing you will be working with boat lifting machinery and associated plant and equipment.
The role will involve but may not be limited to:
· Working outdoors ashore and afloat (on boats and pontoons)
· Slinging vessels prior to lifting & launching
· Assisting with cradling vessels ashore
· Boat handling, moving vessels to and from berths & moorings
· Pressure washing
· Physical handling of yard equipment
· Assisting with ensuring the yard and marina are well organised, tidy and hazard free
Candidates must be self-motivated and able to show initiative, with awareness of H&S procedures.
Although not essential, a practical knowledge of boats and boat handling is advantageous, as is experience and qualifications with boat handling machinery, forklift and tele-handlers. Full training and plant driving qualifications will be available.
Hours: 08:00- 17:00 Mon to Fri (occasional overtime opportunities)
