Senior IT Infrastructure Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Manager to join our technology leadership team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic and hands-on IT professional to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure services across a dynamic business environment.
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's IT infrastructure, including servers, cloud platforms, networks, storage, virtualisation, and end-user services. You will work closely with senior leadership, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the availability, security, and scalability of critical technology systems while driving infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex infrastructure projects while maintaining high service standards and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, design, implementation, and management of enterprise IT infrastructure services.
- Oversee Windows and Linux server environments, virtualisation platforms, storage solutions, and data centre operations.
- Manage cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Ensure high availability, performance, resilience, and security of business-critical infrastructure.
- Develop and implement infrastructure roadmaps aligned with organisational objectives.
- Manage infrastructure projects including cloud migrations, hardware refreshes, and technology upgrades.
- Oversee network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
- Establish and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
- Implement IT governance, security controls, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage third-party vendors, managed service providers, and technology contracts.
- Monitor infrastructure performance using enterprise monitoring and reporting tools.
- Develop operational procedures, documentation, and service improvement plans.
- Lead, mentor, and develop infrastructure engineers and technical support teams.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, software engineering, and business teams to support strategic technology initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant experience in IT infrastructure management or enterprise infrastructure leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and enterprise identity management.
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and switching.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other enterprise virtualisation platforms.
- Knowledge of storage technologies, backup solutions, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies is desirable.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management principles and change management processes.
- Experience managing enterprise infrastructure budgets, vendors, and service providers.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
