Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various woodworking machinery to produce high-quality components. Duties
- Operate a range of woodworking machinery, including milling machines, to produce precise components according to specifications.
- Utilise hand tools and tooling equipment for assembly, finishing, and adjustments.
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and movement of stock.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to meet company standards.
- Assist in materials handling and organise workflow within the workshop or warehouse setting.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication or machining, preferably within a woodworking or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of milling techniques, tooling setup, and material handling procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and basic welding skills are advantageous.
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Warehouse experience including materials organisation and assembly tasks is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of mathematics relevant to measurements and calculations in manufacturing processes.
This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards within a busy workshop environment.
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
