This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing business and a hard working team. The Yard Operative will work primarily within Kube Rigging’s main yard outside supporting and working alongside the other yard workers and also communicating with and assisting the rest of the team.
Fulfilling a wide range of tasks the Yard Operative will be hardworking, a fast learner, able to manage time effectively, an excellent communicator and be physically fit because the job involves frequent heavy lifting. You must be willing and able to work at weekends or evenings if so required as working in the film industry requires flexible hours.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Inspect, count and load rigging equipment onto vehicles
- Ensure all equipment returned from locations is sorted, serviced and stored tidily ready for re-use
- Maintain accurate records of stock and orders (written and on computer)
- Drive vehicles to deliver and collect equipment
- Paint tube and fittings and maintain all equipment, machinery and drapes
- Cut tube and boards accurately
- Flexible to work very early / very late hours at short notice. Willing and able to work weekends when necessary .
- Drive forklift to load/unload
- Maintain a tidy, safe and secure yard at all times
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent time keeping
- Good organisational skills
- Clean driving license (max 6 points) to drive vans
- Electrical knowledge of power cables and electrical hoists advantageous but not essential
- Physically fit and able to move and carry heavy items independently
- Forklift licence useful but not essential
- HGV licence helpful but not essential
- Ability to understand and communicate fluently in English
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to contribute to the growth and success of the business
- Must be both a good team-player and able to work independently
