We are seeking motivated Pre-registration Training Pharmacy Technicians (Apprenticeship) to join our dynamic pharmacy team. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience under the supervision of two pharmacists, preparing for registration as a pharmacy technician. Duties
- Assist with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards
- Support the preparation of prescriptions under supervision, including labelling and packaging medicines
- Maintain accurate patient records and update pharmacy databases as required
- Support medication administration processes, ensuring timely and correct delivery of medicines to patients
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering advice within scope of practice, and supporting patient education
- Organise stock levels, check expiry dates, and assist with stock replenishment to ensure the pharmacy operates smoothly
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures and confidentiality protocols
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a pharmacy dispenser or in a healthcare setting is essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication handling and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and confidentiality in all tasks undertaken
- Ability to work as part of a team within a fast-paced environment
- A genuine interest in healthcare, medication management, and supporting patient wellbeing
