Purpose of the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Hygiene functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement across our food manufacturing operation.
As QA Manager, you will lead the site's Food Safety Management System, drive a positive food safety culture, manage customer and third-party audits, and provide strategic quality leadership across the business. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, customer requirements and relevant food safety legislation.
Working Pattern: 09.00 – 17.00, Monday – Friday
You will be an experienced quality professional with a strong background in food manufacturing and a passion for food safety excellence.
Essential:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Management or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, GMP and allergen management.
- Experience managing customer and third-party audits.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor or HACCP Level 4 qualification.
- Experience within chocolate, confectionery or cocoa processing.
- Experience leading Food Safety Culture programmes.
- Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma training.
Key Responsibilities / Core Activities
- Lead and develop QA, QC and Hygiene teams.
- Drive food safety, quality and compliance across the site.
- Manage BRCGS, customer and regulatory audits.
- Lead customer complaint investigations and corrective action programmes.
- Oversee quality systems, laboratory activities and hygiene standards.
- Champion food safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyse quality performance data and deliver business improvements.
