Chef Opportunity – Join the Launch Team at Merchants Tavern!
Merchant Leisure — the independent hospitality group behind some of Edinburgh’s best-loved venues including The Newsroom, Jackson The Tailor, Burgers & Beers Grillhouse, The Piper’s Rest and The Railbridge — is preparing to launch an exciting new venue in the heart of Edinburgh: Merchants Tavern.
We’re now looking for passionate, reliable and hard-working Chefs to join our opening kitchen team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a brand-new kitchen launch within a growing independent hospitality group known for quality food, strong teams and exciting venues.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes during busy service periods
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Maintain excellent cleanliness, organisation and food safety standards
- Support with stock rotation, prep and daily kitchen duties
- Contribute ideas for specials, menu development and improving service
- Help create a positive, professional and motivated kitchen culture
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment
- Passion for food and pride in presentation and consistency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
