The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team and take real ownership of the equipment that keeps our production running: induction furnaces, holding furnaces, and pouring systems. This isn't just reactive maintenance you'll be the go-to expert for refractory condition and repair, working closely with our Maintenance Fitters and playing a genuinely important role in keeping the plant safe, efficient, and productive.

What You'll Be Doing
- Removing, repairing, and relining induction and holding furnaces
- Repairing and recasting tundishes used in the pouring process
- Maintaining and repairing the launder pouring system
- Assessing refractory condition and recommending repairs or replacements your judgement will directly shape maintenance planning
- Replacing filters on production machinery to schedule
- Supporting our Maintenance Fitters with wider plant maintenance
- Working safely at all times and speaking up on any equipment or safety concerns
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a maintenance, refractory, or industrial engineering role manufacturing or foundry background ideal
- A practical understanding of furnace or refractory materials and repair techniques (or real enthusiasm to learn)
- A safety-first mindset
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Physically fit for manual work in a hot, industrial environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable:
- A manufacturer's specialist installation course or equivalent training
- Experience with induction furnaces specifically
- A relevant NVQ, apprenticeship, or trade qualification in engineering or maintenance

Pay: £25,420.00-£46,756.54 per year
