Location: Brompton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £15 per hour starting rate (£29,250 per year)
Rising to: £17 per hour (£33,150 per year) after successful probation
Start Date: As soon as possible
Training: Full training provided working alongside current postholder until March 2026

We are now seeking a Technical / Operations Assistant to join our team and be trained to take on a key operational role ahead of an internal transition in 2026.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong practical and engineering skillset who enjoys variety and technical problem-solving.
Working closely with our Technical/Operations Manager, you will gain comprehensive training in:
- Servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting oil filtration machines
- Supporting day-to-day operations of the workshop
- Assisting with planning, scheduling and coordinating job tasks
- Liaising with customers and suppliers
- Stock management, ordering and record-keeping
- Supporting general operations and ad-hoc duties as required
You will work alongside the current role holder until March 2026, ensuring a smooth and well-supported transition.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- A practical engineering background - mechanical, electrical or similar
- Hands-on ability and confidence working with machinery and tools
- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
- Good communication skills
- Reliability and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently once trained
Desirable:
- Experience in machinery servicing, workshop work, or technical support
- Electrical qualification
- Full UK driving licence
