We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and forward-thinking special school in Farnborough for pupils aged 4-16. The school supports children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) across its primary and secondary settings, providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Staff work closely together to support students in developing their confidence, communication skills, independence and academic progress.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and additional SEND.
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in lessons.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Supporting the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to meet each pupil's individual needs.
- Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Has knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD or other additional needs.
- Is patient, caring, resilient and adaptable.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Is passionate about helping children and young people reach their full potential.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Previous experience within a special school, mainstream school, alternative provision, care setting or similar environment would be highly desirable.
