We’re looking for a skilled Information Systems Analyst to join our IT department. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to analyse requirements, enhance existing systems, and support the delivery of bespoke, high‑performance solutions that meet operational and strategic goals.
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled individual to support, enhance, and develop our software applications and databases. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our systems operate efficiently, our data is reliable, and our users receive an outstanding service experience.
What you'll do
- Provide development and support for software applications, databases, and reporting solutions
- Monitor Service Desk activity, resolve support requests in a timely manner, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Contribute to forward planning for infrastructure requirements, capacity, and availability based on business software needs
- Play a key role in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, ensuring systems are robust and risk‑resilient
- Support financial and operational processes through reliable, well‑maintained information systems
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve software incidents across a range of software applications
- Provide user administration for the ERP system and bespoke applications in use
- Create, develop and maintain bespoke in-house systems in line with defined business requirements
- Maintain IT Security Documentation
- Keep abreast of security vulnerabilities and apply software patches to in-house applications
- Ensure licensing compliance is always maintained
- Assist all users with any logged IT related incidents when requested
- Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system
Qualifications and Skills Required
Skills:
- Good understanding of programming languages (such as Studio.Net or similar) and SQL/DBA skills:
VB.Net (current systems), C# or equivalent or ASP.Net for future developments if required
SQL Server, management and T-SQL coding
Oracle Database, management and PL/SQL coding
- Prior knowledge of ERP systems (such as IFS) preferred but not essential
- SAP Crystal Reports skills (within IFS)
- Some knowledge of MS Office (Excel / macros - VB6 based), preferred but not essential
- Atlassian Jira and Confluence knowledge, preferred but not essential
- Qlik Sense development, preferred but not essential
- Novacura Flow development, preferred but not essential
- Basic understanding of Microsoft networks, Active Directory a benefit, some Linux also
Qualifications:
- GCSE Grade A-C/9-4 Math’s, English and a Computing related subject or equivalent
- Computing Diploma or equivalent
Desirable:
- Degree at minimum 2:1, or equivalent, in a Computing related subject
- Knowledge of HMG accreditation processes within the Defence Industry, preferably with experience of designing and documenting ISO 27001 compliant systems and procedures
Additional Requirements
- Driving License
- Travel to alternative locations in the UK (and rarely but potentially abroad) as required
- Out of hours work may be required in line with the support needs of the business from time to time
