We are looking for a committed and resilient Hair and Beauty Tutor to join our Post 16 team, supporting learners with Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs to develop into future professionals.

The Role:
To plan, deliver and assess high-quality Hair & Beauty education and training to post-16/ pre 16 students/Pupils
- To support learners in developing vocational, employability and personal skills within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- To create engaging and industry-relevant learning experiences that prepare students for progression into employment or further study within the Hair & Beauty sector.
You Will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Hair & Beauty lessons, practical workshops, and demonstrations aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Support learners to develop practical skills in hair styling, beauty treatments, health & safety, and client care.
- Differentiate learning to meet individual learner needs, including those with additional learning or emotional needs.
- Provide pastoral support, promoting confidence, resilience and positive behaviour.
- Assess learner progress through practical and theoretical methods, providing constructive feedback.
- Support learners during work placements, enrichment activities, and external visits where appropriate.
- Prepare learners for employment by embedding industry standards, professionalism and workplace expectations.
- Promote independence, self-expression, and creativity within a safe learning environment.
We are looking for someone who has
- A recognised qualification in Hair & Beauty (Level 3 or above essential; degree or equivalent desirable).
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) desirable OR willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
- Industry experience within the Hair & Beauty sector.
- Experience working with young people in an educational or training setting (desirable).
- Knowledge of current Hair & Beauty trends, techniques and health & safety standards.
- Experience of supporting learners with additional needs (desirable).
- Good level of Maths and English (GCSE grade C/4 or above or equivalent).
- Understanding of safeguarding in education.
- Assessor/IQA qualifications (desirable but not essential).
