Altior Group works in the Insurance industry providing reinstatement works for a range of projects including escapes of water, fires, floods and subsidence.
The Contracts Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of multiple contracts and projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme, within contractual requirements, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves managing live contracts from mobilisation through to completion, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, overseeing site performance, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Project Management
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery and performance of allocated contracts and projects.
- Attend every live project site at least once during the works and complete detailed progress reports.
- Conduct weekly site visits for projects valued over £10,000 to monitor performance, progress, and compliance.
- Monitor project delivery against agreed programmes and contract requirements, identifying potential delays, risks, and issues.
- Implement corrective actions where required and escalate significant concerns to the Directors.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, company procedures, and client expectations.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all health and safety processes, documentation, risk assessments, and site-specific requirements are established and maintained throughout the duration of the works.
- Confirm that all preliminary arrangements, permits, site set-up requirements, welfare provisions, and compliance documentation are in place before work commences.
- Promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture across all contracts and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Monitor site compliance and take appropriate action to address any breaches or concerns.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, operatives, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on progress, programme performance, and any project risks.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to support successful contract delivery and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Manage expectations and proactively resolve issues to minimise disruption to project outcomes.
Team & Performance Management
- Undertake regular performance reviews of on-site operatives and subcontractors.
- Monitor workforce performance, productivity, attendance, and quality standards.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to ensure consistent delivery of work to company standards.
- Identify training and development requirements and report performance concerns where appropriate.
Quality Assurance & Contract Close-Out
- Carry out quality inspections throughout project delivery and upon completion.
- Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards, specification, and contractual requirements.
- Manage snagging and remedial works where necessary.
- Obtain stakeholder sign-off on completed projects and ensure all completion documentation is accurately maintained.
- Review completed contracts and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of construction, maintenance, refurbishment, or project delivery environments.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational, planning, and programme management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
- Competent in producing reports, project documentation, and performance reviews.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
