Were looking for an experienced MET Technician / Strip Fitter to join our Edinburgh accident repair centre. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in vehicle stripping and fitting, mechanical, electrical and trim work who takes pride in completing repairs accurately and to a high standard.
Whether your background is as an MET Technician, Strip Fitter, Vehicle Technician or Bodyshop Technician, if you have strong hands-on experience within accident repair, wed love to hear from you.
What Youll Be Doing
As an MET Technician / Strip Fitter, you will:
Strip and refit vehicles safely and efficiently as part of the accident repair process
Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components
Dismantle and reassemble vehicles in line with manufacturer repair methods
Inspect components during strip-down and identify additional damage or repair requirements
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults where required
Ensure all vehicle components are correctly refitted and functioning before completion
Work with modern diagnostic equipment, tools and bodyshop technology
Liaise with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians and other members of the workshop team to support an efficient repair process
Work to agreed quality and productivity standards while maintaining safe working practices
Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment
What Were Looking For
Previous experience as an MET Technician, Strip Fitter, Mechanical Electrical Trim Technician or similar automotive role
Experience working within a bodyshop, accident repair centre or vehicle repair environment
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical and trim systems
Confident stripping and refitting vehicle components following accident damage
Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
ATA accreditation, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent automotive qualification is desirable
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
A professional approach with a strong work ethic and sense of accountability
