Temporary Lecturer - Performing Arts (Movement)
8.75 hours per week (2 classes)
Glasgow Clyde College is looking for an experienced Movement Lecturer to join our Acting and Performance team. This role will involve delivering movement training across our NC Acting and Performance, HND Acting and Performance Year 1, and HND Acting and Performance Year 2 programmes.
You will work with students to develop the physical skills, confidence and awareness needed for performance. Through practical classes, workshops, and rehearsal support, you will help learners explore how movement can support character, storytelling, and stage presence. Working alongside the Acting and Performance team, you will contribute to student learning, assessments, productions and showcases throughout the year.

You will:

Deliver practical movement sessions for Acting and Performance students.
- Support students in developing physical confidence, coordination, and performance skills.
- Introduce movement approaches that support actor training and contemporary performance.
- Help students prepare for assessments, rehearsals, and productions.
- Give feedback and guidance to help students develop their practice.
- Contribute to the wider work of the Performing Arts department.
About You
-
You will have experience in movement, acting, physical theatre, dance, or a related performance discipline.
- You will have experience of working with performers or learners and understand the role movement plays in developing confident, versatile actors.
- You will be enthusiastic, supportive, and able to create an engaging learning environment. You will enjoy collaborating with colleagues and helping students achieve their potential.
- Experience of teaching in Further Education and knowledge of Qualifications Scotland (SQA) Performing Arts qualifications would be an advantage.
- The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and a positive approach to supporting and engaging with students. They will contribute to a high standard of learning through effective teaching, learning and assessment, and bring relevant professional experience from within the performing arts industry.

Salary: £41,833 - £50,359 per annum (pro rata)
